Concrete Services
Durable Driveways, Walkways, and Patios Built to Last
At Tricounty Tree Care, we are more than just tree experts—we are total property specialists. We understand that a beautiful landscape requires a balance of "softscapes" (trees, sod, plants) and functional "hardscapes" (concrete and stone).
Whether you need a new driveway to replace cracked asphalt, a pad for a new shed, or a custom patio, our team delivers high-quality concrete pouring services with the same reliability you expect from our tree care.

Why Trust Tricounty with Your Concrete?
It might seem unusual to hire a tree company for concrete, but it makes perfect sense. Roots and concrete are natural enemies.
-
Root-Smart Design: As arborists, we know exactly how to pour concrete near trees without killing the root system or inviting future cracking from root upheaval.
-
One-Stop Shop: If you are clearing a lot, removing a tree, and widening a driveway, you only need to make one phone call. We handle the demo, the tree work, and the pour.
-
Heavy Equipment Experts: We have the machinery and the skilled operators to handle excavation, grading, and hauling efficiently.
Our Concrete Capabilities
1. Driveways & Extensions
Is your driveway too narrow? Is the old concrete cracking and uneven? We specialize in:
-
Replacement: Full removal of old driveways and pouring of new, reinforced concrete.
-
Extensions: Widening your current driveway for boat, RV, or extra vehicle parking.
-
Aprons: Installing smooth entry points and culvert pipe protection.
2. Patios & Outdoor Living
Create the perfect foundation for your backyard oasis. We pour custom patios that serve as the base for:
-
Outdoor kitchens and grilling stations.
-
Fire pits and seating areas.
-
Hot tub pads.
3. Walkways & Sidewalks
Connect your home to your garden, pool, or shed with smooth, safe walkways. We ensure proper grading so water flows away from your home, not into it.
4. Shed Slabs & Utility Pads
Need a solid base for a new shed, generator, or HVAC unit? We pour reinforced slabs that stay level and resist shifting in the sandy Lowcountry soil.

Our Process: Built to Last
Concrete is permanent, so we take the time to do it right.
1. Site Prep & Tree Protection: We mark out the area and assess nearby trees. If roots pose a threat, we use root barriers or adjust the layout to ensure the longevity of both the concrete and the tree.
2. Excavation & Grading: We dig down to the proper depth and grade the subsoil. Proper drainage is critical in Charleston to prevent pooling water.
3. The Base Layer: We install a compacted gravel base (where necessary). This step is crucial for stability and preventing the "settling" cracks common in our region.
4. Reinforcement: Depending on the load (cars vs. foot traffic), we install rebar or wire mesh to add structural integrity to the slab.
5. Pour & Finish: We pour high-quality concrete mix and finish it to your specifications—usually a "broom finish" for non-slip safety on exterior surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you pour concrete over tree roots? A: We strongly advise against pouring directly over major surface roots. It damages the tree and guarantees the concrete will crack. We can help you design a layout that curves around roots or prune them safely if the tree species allows.
Q: How long do I have to wait to drive on a new driveway? A: You can typically walk on it after 24 hours, but you should wait at least 7 days before driving standard vehicles on it to allow the concrete to cure to sufficient strength.
Q: Do you offer stamped or colored concrete? Yes! Check out our gallery of some of our work.
