2. Excavation & Grading: We dig down to the proper depth and grade the subsoil. Proper drainage is critical in Charleston to prevent pooling water.

3. The Base Layer: We install a compacted gravel base (where necessary). This step is crucial for stability and preventing the "settling" cracks common in our region.

4. Reinforcement: Depending on the load (cars vs. foot traffic), we install rebar or wire mesh to add structural integrity to the slab.

Q: Can you pour concrete over tree roots? A: We strongly advise against pouring directly over major surface roots. It damages the tree and guarantees the concrete will crack. We can help you design a layout that curves around roots or prune them safely if the tree species allows.

Q: How long do I have to wait to drive on a new driveway? A: You can typically walk on it after 24 hours, but you should wait at least 7 days before driving standard vehicles on it to allow the concrete to cure to sufficient strength.
